My Little Pony: The Movie

Zai Ortiz was invited by Hasbro to compete with a handful of studios for the privilege of crafting the main-on-end title sequence for My Little Pony: The Movie. In the end, DarkMatter’s team had the winning idea and went on to develop and produce both the illustrated main-on-end titles and the film’s end crawl sequence. Featuring custom designed character illustrations, the main title sequence translates the art style of the film into a colorful storybook-inspired style focused around the 2D animated characters. This sequence continues the fun of the film by expanding on its final party scene and also highlights My Little Pony’s theme of friendship by focusing on the new friends the ponies made along their journey.
